Since our last newsletter, we have met and worked with European pupils (from Latvia to Cyprus) and with Latin American pupils (from Venezuela to Peru). We have also prepared for you the following highlights of our last encounters. Of course, this is only a small extract of the roller-coaster of emotions we usually enjoy during our trips to schools:

The most attaching: heard from a schoolboy attending the afternoon sessions of the Centro de Educación Popular de Santa Rosa de Agua in Venezuela: “Mom, I am not going home with you today. I have decided to follow Art in All of Us on its trips around the world”.

The funniest: heard from a discussion between two schoolboys at the SOS Children’s Village of Ibarra (in Ecuador):

“Anthony said that there were 192 countries in the world”

“Noooo!  You’re wrong… Anthony said that there were 192 countries IN ECUADOR only!”

The cutest: see the link to photograph taken at SOS Children’s Village of Ibarra in Ecuador: http://www.artinallofus.org/mailing_august_cutest.htm

The most creative models were in Cyprus:

The most stressful as well as the luckiest event: Anthony has had the appendicitis/peritonitis in Santiago de Chile and has undergone an emergency surgery… we were very lucky to be in such a big and modern city, and not on a bus, in the countryside, on a plane, in the middle of nowhere, rallying a city to another…!

The question we are most frequently asked: “Why does it take so long for the pictures and artworks to be published on the internet?”

Before updating pictures and artworks online, we need to process and prepare them for archiving. These processes are very demanding and take a huge amount of work, explaining the large delay in updating new galleries on our website. However,… and since we like to give you good news in our newsletters, we are very happy to inform you that we have recently signed an unique partnership with JaincoTech (www.jaincotech.com), an American-Indian company leader in digital image processing, to help us in the Photo Keywording process and as a Distributor of our images. We are today very proud to count them as a partner that will help us grow and as such enable us to visit more schools. In about six months from now, we should be able to update new galleries visited last year, and you’ll be able to cruise towards new and interesting regions, discovering the astounding artworks of the pupils we have met. The photos will be also put online and will be on sale. 100% of the benefits will continue to finance Art in All of Us programs.

The following announcement concerns the people living in Belgium and in the neighboring countries:
Art in All of Us will present through a photo-exhibition its latest photography works at Tour & Taxis (Brussels, Belgium), for the 5th anniversary of Comiclown (a great Belgian not-for-profit corporation listening to and bringing fun and smiles to kids in hospitals).  You will have the opportunity to meet the photographers at Art in All of Us’ stand during the event
(1st and 2nd of September 2007 at Tour & Taxis, Brussels).

We would like to make a special call to people willing to volunteer for translations from the following languages to English, French or Spanish:

  • Portuguese
  • Serbian (Montenegro)
  • Romanian
  • Czech
  • Albanian
  • Indonesian
  • Ukrainian
  • Swedish

If you are, or if you have a friend skilled in any of the above languages; and if you wish to contribute, please send an email to stephanie@artinallofus.org. Translation credits will be given on our website, as well as in the World Art Book we are preparing.

This is a very valuable contribution, as the translated artworks will be published on our website, and in the World Art Book we are preparing, so that the broadest public possible can reach them. Unfortunately we can’t select them for publishing purposes without any translation!

We are also at the end of the process of constructing our new website that would be launched VERY soon. We are looking for 10 volunteers to have a first preview of it and give us their feedback. Please write to anthonyasael@artinallofus.org if you are interested.

We’d like to leave you with very important and wonderful news: Art in All of Us has been granted some funds by ArtVenture (http://www.artventure.com), a foundation promoting art and culture to improve life. ArtVenture supports us in the financing of the Central American leg of our school visits’ schedule.

If you are still wondering why so many people support and join Art in All of Us’ work and values, here is a link to testimonials of different people supporting our work in various areas: http://www.artinallofus.org/whytheyjoinedus.htm
