This world is getting more and more competitive, and let's face it, time is money. Are you spending your time sitting in front of a computer or are you out shooting like you should be?
Jeff Plomley opted to outsource his scanning to JaincoTech to save himself time and money: "I have been able to cut my scanning costs by a factor of five, allowing me to continue shooting with 4x5 chrome film. This medium allows me to resolve the most minute details in nature while at the same time capturing the subtle nuances in light and tonality that comprise a landscape image. The time I save on retouching means more time in the field focusing on the quintessential element of photography-image capture."
Jeff Plomley has been involved in wildlife photography for over 15 years and just recently made the transition into Fine Art Landscape Photography, trading his digital tools for a 4x5 Arca Swiss view camera and an assortment of Rodenstock lenses. With the re-introduction of Fujichrome Velvia 50, he is able to capture the landscape with the detail and color fidelity it deserves. Their company NatureWorks Imagery still provides stock images to clients such as Parks Canada, but new images are created with the Fine Art print market in mind. |
